What if I told you there’s a company out there that makes underwear for your iPhone?  You would probably say “Yeah right.”  What if I told you there was a company that made underwear for your iPhone and has sold 1 million products already?  You would probably say “Are you serious?!” to which I would have to reply “Totally serious.”

Yep, a Japanese company called Bandai has come up with the idea of underwear for your iPhone or Smartpants as they call them.  Why would you need underwear for your iPhone? To protect your home button, of course!  As I mentioned the company has sold over 1 million of these little undies in toy vending machines across Japan so far and they plan to launch the product in the U.S. this spring.

While they are designed for the iPhone, they are apparently stretchy enough to fit most smartphones.  Our own Cassie Slane was at this year’s Toy Fair where Smartpants made its U.S. debut, she managed to grab a pair for herself to try on for size.  According to Cassie, the Smartpants booth was actually buried in the back but once word got out about the product everyone ran over to check them out and get a pair.

Below are some of the Smartpants that will be launching in the U.S. this spring.

What do you think? Will you be buying some underwear for your iPhone? If I had to make one feature request it would to be to make sure they are wedgie-proof.
