Talking tech since 2003

Starting today, Google News will now provide a more natural and fluid experience on tablets, including the Nexus 7, Nexus 10, and iPad. The new tablet features allow you to use gestures such as swiping horizontally between sections or the ability to “Explore in depth” which allows users to see multiple articles and other information related to a particular piece of news.

In addition to those tablet features, Google News product manager Mayuresh Saoji also notes in today’s announcement, the new design adds “more breathing room between articles, making it easier to spot the stories you really care about.”

One other piece of information provided by the announcement was that Google News is currently sending approximately six billion visits per month to the news sites it links to. That’s impressive.

If you don’t see this update yet, don’t worry — it’s slowly rolling out over the next few days. If you want to check it out, just browse on over to news.google.com on your tablet and see if it’s available for you.
