Comcast Rebranding Its Mobile TV Viewing App as Xfinity TV Go
Comcast’s mobile video app, currently known as Xfinity TV Player, will soon be rebranded as Xfinity TV Go on both Android and iOS marketplaces, according to The Verge.
The rebrand will happen either “this week or next,” and will not in any capacity affect the company’s other fledgling app, Xfinity TV Remote — which is used to wirelessly control your in-home set-top cable boxes.
Xfinity TV Go will launch with approximately 35 live television channels that you can watch anywhere Wi-Fi Internet is accessible, including any on-demand shows and movies you might have access to through your Comcast subscription. Comcast expects to make more channels available through the app in the future.

Unlike Comcast’s last live streaming television service AnyPlay, subscribers can access these channels when they’re on any Wi-Fi network, not just their designated home network. If you’re a Verizon Wireless subscriber, you’ll be allowed to stream over 3G and 4G LTE as well, thanks to the two companies’ co-marketing partnership.
