dopdfLet’s say you’re working in a word processing application that doesn’t have an export-to-PDF feature. Or maybe you’re viewing a Web page that you’d like to save as a PDF file. For Mac users, this functionality is built right into Mac OS X. For Windows users, however, a third-party application is required. Enter doPDF: a free application for Windows that allows you to create a PDF file out of anything you can print.

doPDF adds itself as a printer on your Windows PC. When you want to save a document or image as a Web page, you can simply click File > Print and then select the doPDF printer instead of your actual printer. When prompted, you can type in a name for your PDF file and save it. It’s that easy.

You can also convert certain file types to PDF by opening the doPDF application’s Conversion Wizard.

doPDF is a free download and is compatible with Windows XP/Vista/7/8, as well as Windows Server 2003/2008/2012.
