Talking tech since 2003

After going on sale at 10:00 AM Pacific Time today, tickets for Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco have already sold out in two minutes.  This was the first time the company pre-announced when tickets would be going on sale, usually they go on sale when Apple announces the conference.  Last year it took just under two hours for WWDC to sell out, and when compared to this year’s two minute sell out, it’s mind blowing.

Wall Street are you listening?  Two minutes to sell out WWDC 2013.  Incredible.

Here’s a breakdown of how long it took to sell out WWDC in previous years.

2009 – 30 days
2010 – 8 days
2011 – 10 hours
2012 – 2 hours
2013 – 2 minutes

Update: A source close to Apple has told BestTechie that tickets for WWDC 2013 sold out in 93 seconds.  The source also said that over 5,000 tickets were sold in that timeframe.
