Talking tech since 2003

Apple’s all-digital home entertainment box, Apple TV, has been updated today with a slew of new channels for you to watch. As previously rumored, Vevo, Disney Channel, Disney XD, The Weather Channel, and the Smithsonian Channel are now available as dedicated applications on Apple TV, as 9to5Mac reports.

Finally, you can now watch re-runs of Hannah Montana on Disney Channel and block the existence of the current Miley Cyrus completely out of your mind. Thanks, Apple TV!

If you’re an Apple TV user living in the U.S., you can access all of that content now – but other regions like the U.K. will only see a select few channels after the most recent update.

Some channels, like Disney and Disney XD, require authentication of your subscription to a cable provider. Other content channels, like The Weather Channel, Smithsonian, and Vevo are free of charge for all Apple TV users to view.

These new channels follow the introduction of ESPN, HBO Go, Skynews and many other channels earlier this year, and help bolster the Apple TV’s slowly-expanding library of accessible content that goes beyond your local iTunes library of music, television shows, and movies.
