The long awaited Mac Pro refresh is finally here.  After being announced all the way back in June at WWDC, starting tomorrow you will be able to order the newly designed Mac Pro from Apple or pick one up in one of the company’s retail stores.  Apple’s Mac Pro is a seriously powerful computer designed for people who handle a lot of big files, such as people who do a lot of video editing.  And because it’s designed with professionals in mind, it isn’t cheap.

For $2,999 you get a 3.7GHz quad-core Xeon processor, 12GB of RAM, dual FirePro D300 graphics, and a 256GB SSD. A more powerful 6-core CPU, dual FirePro D500s, and 16GB of RAM model is also available, priced at $3,999.  Of course there is always the option to custom order your Mac Pro with more CPU cores (up to 12 cores), more RAM (up to 64GB), and bigger storage capacity (up to 1TB of PCI Express solid state storage) — all of those changes come with an added price though.

The new Mac Pro is made in the United States and Apple claims it’ll be as quiet as a Mac Mini during use. It ships tomorrow with Apple’s latest OS X Mavericks operating system, and will be available at Apple’s retail and online stores.
