Talking tech since 2003

We hoped it would only be a matter of time before HTC’s crown jewel, the HTC One, made its way to Verizon Wireless, and for the first time we have confirmation that it’s coming – Verizon has confirmed via its Twitter account that it will be launching its own version of the handset on its LTE network sometime this summer.

Verizon’s release of the HTC One marks the first time that an HTC handset has received support from all four major US carriers in quite some time. Though HTC remains one of the leading manufacturers of Android devices, industry interest has shifted slightly in the favor of longtime HTC competitor Samsung.

I’ll be curious to see how HTC and Verizon plan on outfitting their HTC One model; though HTC and carriers have traditionally shipped the HTC One with BlinkFeed, HTC’s built in Flipboard-like feature that allows users access to handy snippets of news and information right from the home screen, AT&T and HTC have also just announced a brand new version of the HTC One with stock Android offered by Google on the Play Store in order to better compete against Samsung’s Galaxy S4 Google Edition and LG’s Nexus 4.

Verizon has yet to announce any specific information relevant to pricing or availability, however we’ll keep you updated and let you know as soon as we know more.
