Talking tech since 2003

The latest Batman video game series has been held in high regard; especially the titles developed by Rocksteady Studios.  One of those, Batman: Arkham City, will be available as a free PlayStation 3 download for PlayStation Plus subscribers starting in April.

batman-arkham-cityThat’s not all. According to Polygon, several more PS3 titles will make their way to PS Plus in April. Stealth, Inc.: A Clone in the Dark and Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse will also be added. These games aren’t quite the blockbusters that the Batman games are, but they’ll at least keep you busy.

A new PlayStation 4 title is also being added, though it’s not exactly one that pushes the PS4 to its limits. Mercenary Kings is a 2D side-scrolling action game that was funded through Kickstarter in 2012. The game hit PCs and Macs a just few days ago, so we don’t have a good feel for how critics are rating it yet.

Finally, the PlayStation Vita will be getting some love this month in the form of PixelJunk Monsters: Ultimate HD and Velocity Ultra. Both of these titles received good reviews; so between the PS3 and the Vita, at least, you should have some high-quality free gaming to knock out whether you’re at home or on the go.

What’s the competition up to? We’re not sure yet. Microsoft has yet to announce its April lineup for Games with Gold, but it’s rumored that least one of the games will be Hitman: Absolution. We’ll keep our ears to the ground and share any news on Games with Gold once we learn about it.

What do you think of Sony’s free PlayStation Plus games for the month of April? Are you satisfied with the quality, or do you think Sony could do a bit better? Leave us your thoughts below.
