HTC “Hima” Coming for Android & Windows Phone
This past year, HTC made plenty of waves with the release of the One M8, a premium Android phone that later relaunched as a premium Windows Phone handset. Both phones helped HTC’s reputation in the mobile world, and even seemed to pave the way for the release of the Nexus 9 tablet. Now, new rumors are pointing the way toward what HTC will do with its mobile division next year, as specifications and details for the HTC “Hima” have made their way online.
The news comes by way of tweets from @upleaks, which reveals something that looks like an internal product manifest. Looking it over, it seems that HTC’s next flagship phone will be offered running both Android and the Windows Phone OS. Moreover, both operating systems will be featured in regular and “ultra” versions.

As you can see in the tweet, there’s also mention of a tablet that’s “based on Nexus 9, and maybe running HTC Sense.” So, essentially, HTC may be planning to release a new Android tablet without the Nexus brand name, running its own UI skin called Sense.
As for the Hima, we’ve also heard a few hints about the internal specifications for the phone itself. A post on 9to5Google from last week parses a spec-list (which was, again, first posted by @upleaks). The Hima will offer a 5-inch, 1080p display, as well as a 20.7 megapixel rear camera and a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. Under the hood, it’ll feature an octa-core Snapdragon 810 CPU and 3 GB of RAM. In all, it’ll have plenty of power for a smartphone, and will likely turn some heads just as the One M8 did earlier this year.
The Mobile World Conference is scheduled for early 2015, so don’t be surprised to find out the official details about this thing right around then. And if things go the same way they did last year, we may hear plenty more leaks about the Hima a long time before then. Stay tuned.
