Talking tech since 2003

Back in February, VentureBeat reported that Google was beta testing a new content recommendation platform for publishers that was slated to be released the following month.  March, April, May, June, and July came and went and there was no word of the content recommendation platform by Google — until today. A reputable source informed us that Google is testing its content recommendation platform on CelebrityNetWorth.com and sure enough when you look at the website’s source code it is.

According to VentureBeat, Google has been pitching content companies on joining a beta of the service which would be in direct competition with the likes of Taboola and Outbrain [disclosure: We use Taboola here on BestTechie].

At this time, there is no word from Google on the public release of this service, but we have reached out for comment and will update when we hear back.

Update: We heard back from Google but they declined to comment at this time.  We’ll definitely keep an eye on this.
