Talking tech since 2003

If you’ve been in the market for a new MacBook Air but have been weary to purchase a machine that hasn’t been updated since June of 2013, here’s a good word for you: according to extremely reliable sources reporting to 9to5Mac‘s Mark Gurman, Apple is planning on updating their lineup of MacBook Air ultraportable notebooks tomorrow. 9to5Mac has reportedly received a photo of an updated MacBook Air’s hardware specifications, which you can see above.

According to the report, we’re not looking at some huge update here – this is a fairly run of the mill update that will be focusing on updating the notebook’s internals, like the processor with new Haswell chips and storage options. Pricing, hardware design, and screen technology is all expected to stay the same – for now – however Apple has been rumored to be planning on releasing a new 12-inch Retina-equipped MacBook Air model later this year, likely this fall.

Tomorrow’s new MacBook Air update, if it does happen, could be a stopgap solution to upgrade the current lineup before replacing it with an even bigger upgrade in the fall. Either way, nobody’s going to turn down more bang for their buck, especially when we’re talking about an Apple product here.
