Apple Confirms October 16 Event: What’ll We See?

Today, when Apple sent out press invites to its October 16 event set to take place at its Cupertino campus next week, the company PR team decided to go with text that was firmly “tongue in cheek.”

“It’s been way too long,” it reads, ironically alluding to the fact that Apple just hosted one of the biggest events it had in years just last month on September 9, where the company unveiled the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, Apple Pay, and the long-awaited Apple Watch. So what will we be seeing at this newest event next week?

From [...]

Apple iPad Event Reportedly Set for Oct 16

For the last few weeks, we’ve heard that Apple’s upcoming event – which many believe will see the announcement of a refreshed iPad, the release of OS X Yosemite, and maybe even a new iMac Retina – will be scheduled for October 21, almost exactly one year from a similar event held in 2013. However, a new report today claims that the event – which has yet to be confirmed by Apple at all – will actually be held on October 16.

The news comes by way of a post on Recode, which says that the event will be held at the Town Hall [...]

Report: Apple to Release Gold (Colored) iPad

In an effort to boost sales of its flagship iPad tablet, Apple is said to be preparing one with a gold-colored case, set to be unveiled this month. It seems pretty likely considering the success Apple found last year when it released the gold-colored iPhone 5s, not to mention the forthcoming Apple Watch – one model of which will be released composed of actual gold.

The news comes from a report on Bloomberg this morning, which reports that the gold color will join silver and gray as case color options. It seems that Apple hasn’t [...]

More Supposed Details on October’s iPad Event

Everything every day is “iPhone 6 this,” and “iOS 8 that,” but what about the iPad? Rumor has it that Apple will be refreshing its flagship tablet line at an event that’s said to be scheduled for October 21, though Apple has yet to confirm the event, the date, the anything. Yet more reports have surfaced that lend credence to that event being the real deal, along with a few more details about what we may – or may not – see once it arrives.

A post on CNET points the way back to a report from the Commercial Times out of China, [...]

Will Apple Reveal new iPads on October 21?

In the weeks leading up to the big Apple event last week, where we got a look at the iPhone 6, the Apple Watch, and Apple Pay, we were under the impression that we’d see a new iPad there as well. Of course, when we didn’t, it was easy to forget, since there was more than enough to write about when it came to the new gadgets and services that Apple did bring to the stage. A new report out of the Daily Dot, however, claims that Apple will be scheduling another big event next month, where we’ll see a couple new iPads, as well as the [...]

New 12.9-Inch iPad to Hit in 2015

We’ve got the iPad, and the skinny iPad Air, and even the teeny iPad Mini. Now, Apple is reportedly adding another flavor of iOS tablet to the family with a jumbo-sized iPad measuring 12.9 inches, which will be the largest display found on an iPad yet.

According to a report from Bloomberg published early this morning, supply chains in Asia are getting ready to begin production on the new device, supposedly for a first quarter 2015 release. There aren’t many more details aside from that, but hearing that Apple is looking to expand [...]

New iPad with Anti-Reflective Display On the Way

Apple’s plans for this year sound robust, between the long-awaited iPhone 6, and the even longer-awaited iWatch, both rumored to be scheduled for an autumn release. As it turns out, Apple will also be releasing a new and improved version of the iPad this year as well, with a new report claiming that the refreshed version of the device has entered production at manufacturers in Asia.

According to Bloomberg, new versions of the full-sized iPad as well as the somewhat smaller iPad Mini have both entered production, with plans to [...]

Wireless Carriers Just Don’t Have Enough iPad mini with Retina Stock

The iPad Air launch was about as smooth a launch as a company can hope for. The product hit retail days after being announced, and the reviews that poured in for Apple’s thinner and lighter flagship tablet were overwhelmingly positive. The iPad mini with Retina launch? Not as smooth. That product arrived a bit later, first showing up on Apple’s website without a single announcement from the company. Reports speculated that stock for the iPad mini with Retina might be strained, and while big box stores seem to be getting [...]

Reports Suggest iPad Pro with Larger Screen Coming in Early 2014

Hot on the heels of the recent release of both the iPad Air and the iPad Mini with Retina Display, reports are swirling around the web claiming that 12.9-inch Retina display-sporting iPads are in production for release next year.

The report comes from The Korea Times, and has not been commented on or responded to by Apple, as expected. If true though, this new iPad would release early next year as a sibling to the 9.8-inch iPad Air and the 7.9-inch iPad Mini. But what might they call it?

Perhaps they’ll name it iPad [...]
