Talking tech since 2003

Verizon just put up its landing page for the Samsung Galaxy S4.  The landing page doesn’t say much, other than the Galaxy S4 will be arriving on the carrier “soon.”  Customers who are interested to hear when can enter their email to receive updates from Verizon.  While Verizon still hasn’t given a final release date or price for the phone, earlier this week, Verizon tweeted that the Galaxy S4 would be available in May.

On Monday, we published an article with the details from the other three major carriers plans to sell the Galaxy S4 including pre-order and release dates.  Currently, AT&T is the only carrier accepting pre-orders at this time, however, T-Mobile will begin selling the Galaxy S4 this week (April 24).

Verizon is the last of the four major US carriers to offer any acknowledgment on when the Galaxy S4 will be available.  As to what is taking so long, it could be anything from Verizon testing the phone to ensure it works well on its network to them having to load up all the phones with its own apps and services.

Update: Verizon has said that it will sell the on-contract Galaxy S4 beginning at $249.99 for the 16GB model, though it will be sold with a $50 mail-in rebate, which effectively brings the price down to $199.99 (what it’s selling for on AT&T).  Still no word on the ship or pre-order date.  We’ll keep you posted.
