Talking tech since 2003

foobar2000Windows users have a wide variety of audio players to choose from, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that all of those choices are high-quality, or that the available apps suit everybody. The bundled Windows Media Player, for example, may feel clunky to some. And iTunes? That may feel too rigid.

That’s where an app like foobar2000 comes in. Developed by Peter Pawlawski, who was once a contractor for Nullsoft (the company that developed the immensely popular Winamp), foobar2000 is a audio player for Windows that is totally free to download. Big deal, you might say. Almost every audio player is free to download! Sure. But not many are as customizable as foobar2000 is.

foobar2000 isn’t the prettiest audio player right off the bat, but the app shines because you can make it whatever you want it to be. There is an extensive SDK for third-party developers that allow them to do pretty much anything they want to the app. Some even replace the classic foobar2000 interface altogether.

If you’re tired of the same old, same old when it comes to media players on Windows, why not give foobar2000 a shot? The link for the free download is located below.
