Destiny Diary, Issue 8: The Midas Touch

Wondering what Xur is selling this weekend? Curious about the week’s strike missions? You’ve come to the right place.

I personally won’t be spending any Strange Coins this week (I already have what Xur’s slinging), but if you’re looking for a nice exotic scout rifle, or for some exotic armor, Xur’s wares might interest you.

Xur, Agent of the Nine

mida-multi-toolIf you haven’t been lucky enough to get Mida Multi-Tool as a drop, you’re in luck — Xur has it on sale in the tower this week. This exotic scout rifle will cost you 23 Strange Coins, and the consensus is that the gun is worth the Coins.

Are you in the market for exotic armor? Titans can pick up the Ruin Wings gauntlets this week. Hunters and Warlocks can pick up exotic helmets — Achlyophage Symbiote and Obsidian Mind, respectively. Each piece of armor will cost you 13 Strange Coins.

Xur is also selling an exotic shard (7 Strange Coins) and an exotic gauntlet engram (23 Motes of Light).

Weekly Strikes

“Well, at least it’s chained up.” If you’re used to hearing that as you down Phogoth and exit the Shrieker room, good news — you already know how to beat this week’s Nightfall and Heroic Strike, The Summoning Pits. The Nightfall version of the strike has the Nightfall, Angry, Epic, Lightswitch, and Arc Burn modifiers. For the Heroic, you get the Heroic and Arc Burn modifiers.

What Did I Get This Week?

The random number generator was very good to me this week. On Sunday, I had Felwinter’s Lie drop for me during Iron Banner. Thunderlord arrived after completing the Nightfall mission. Praedyth’s Revenge dropped while doing Vault of Glass, and I got Blackhammer after downing Crota in the Crota’s End raid. I can safely say that this was the best week I’ve had as far as drops go.

I’m definitely cutting down my hours in the game, but I’m continuing to complete the game’s major weekly activities (Vault of Glass, Crota’s End, Nightfall, Weekly Heroic). Perhaps more lucky item drops are in my future?

Did you get anything awesome this past week? We’d love to hear about it.
