Talking tech since 2003

Is Halo: Master Chief Collection as great as I thought it would be? Yes. But I purchased my Xbox One nearly a year ago. If you’re a gamer who doesn’t own Microsoft’s latest-gen console just yet, and the newest Halo is number one on your “must buy” list, you’re in a lot of luck; Walmart will be discounting a Kinect-less system for $329, and will throw in both Halo: Master Chief Collection and a $30 Walmart gift card to sweeten the deal.

xbox-one1-300x164Now, it’s important to note that, while I’m saying “Black Friday,” Walmart’s definition of this holiday is slightly different. The above deal will actually begin on Wednesday, November 26 at 6 PM.

You’ve probably noticed that is not a Friday. So while you’re drinking some cold ones after work, preparing for all of the cooking you’ll do the next day on Thanksgiving, some unfortunate souls at Walmart will be at work selling supremely discounted Xbox One bundles. That will also be the case on Thanksgiving Day, and the day after that, which is actual Black Friday… on a Friday, the single day that this epic salesapalooza used to be confined to before ‘Murica decided closing stores for holidays was treasonous.

But hey, $329 Xbox Ones!

In case you’re wondering just how great this deal is, the Kinect-free Xbox One version previously sold at $399. Halo: Master Chief Collection will run you $59.99. And a $30 Walmart card is, well, $30. All in all, you’re getting pretty close to $490 in value for a mere $329 — a savings of $161.

Sound like something you’d want to hop on? Remember — Wednesday, November 26 at 6 PM. Walmart is the place to be. This is one of the lower-priced Xbox One deals I’ve seen thus far, so take that for what it’s worth. And if you happen to see one that’s better, please let us know!
