Apple Announces Special Event for September 10, Likely to Introduce New iPhones

Apple on Tuesday sent out invites for a special event to be held on September 10, 2013 at the company’s Cupertino, Calif. headquarters. According to the invitation, the event will start at 10:00 am PT.  This announcement confirms the report by AllThingsD last month.

It is widely expected that Apple will introduce a new iPhone at the event.  The new iPhone is rumored to ship in a gold color in addition to the traditional black and white color options. In addition to the next iPhone, Apple is also expected to announce a lower cost iPhone 5C that will be available in multiple colors.  Based on the invite (seen above) that multiple color rumor sure does look convincing.

Both new iPhones are expected to start shipping in September as well.
