Xbox Live Games With Gold for March: Some Really Solid Titles

This might be the best “Games with Gold” month in quite some time.

Owners of the Xbox One who subscribe to Xbox Live Gold will get Rayman Legends — a game that nabbed a Metacritic score of 91 — at no cost.

Those on the Xbox 360 (Microsoft’s previous-generation console) will get two blockbuster titles: 2013’s Tomb Raider reboot (Metacritic: 86) from March 1-15, and the critically acclaimed BioShock Infinite (Metacritic: 93) from March 16-31.

The March GwG news came courtesy of Major Nelson’s blog, along with another interesting tidbit; to celebrate the success of Games with Gold, Microsoft will be giving away twice as many free games in the month of April. Xbox One owners will be getting two new games, and Xbox 360 owners will be getting four new games.

Will those April games be of high quality? That’ll be the big question, especially for the Xbox One. Rayman Legends may be the biggest game yet on that console, which has mostly seen smaller indie titles go free since June 2014. Games with Gold on the Xbox 360, however, has offered many games from popular franchises. And most interesting? On the 360, you can keep your games if you cancel Gold. On the One, that isn’t the case.

Anyway, it’s highly recommended you live in the here and now and pick up March’s games when that month comes around. Really, each is considered by many to be the best in its respective series. Next-gen Rayman fun; a well-paced, more mature Tomb Raider; and the conclusion to one of the most popular gaming franchises of the last generation. Free for Gold subscribers.

Don’t miss out.
