Report: 'Tinder Plus' Service to Launch on Monday for $10/mo.

Want to get the most out of Tinder? Prepare to swipe a few dollars out of your wallet.

TechCrunch is reporting that a paid, subscription version of Tinder, called Tinder Plus, will launch on Monday. The $10 a month service will net you the ability to change your location, rewind your last swipe (if you accidentally swiped left), and use the app totally ad free.

An option to undo an accidental left-swipe is something users have wanted for a while. The other two perks are very, very, interesting — changing location will let users pretend they’re anywhere (why, exactly?), and touting an ad-free experience means that the normal, free Tinder app will be getting ads at some point in the near future.

How will Tinder implement advertising? And will the app be able to show ads without souring users on the experience? Those are two very big questions. Re/Code covered the possibility of ads in Tinder yesterday, imagining ads showing up much like profile cards “every 15 or 20 swipes.”

That doesn’t sound too intrusive, especially if an ad can be easily swiped out.

We will keep an eye out for more news on Tinder Plus, and should the app launch on Monday as reported today, we’ll check it out and report back. Till then, tell us what you think — would you pay for a subscription version of Tinder? Or are you okay with some ads here and there? Leave your thoughts below.
