AOL Music Is Finished, Staff Laid Off

Here’s some sad news, according to a tweet by Dan Reilly, the editor of Spinner, a music site owned by AOL, the entire AOL Music staff has been laid off.

Apparently, they are sitting in an HR meeting right now negotiating the terms. We have reached out to AOL for confirmation and we will keep you updated as we learn more.

Paul Cantor was the hip-hop editor at Spinner and is now looking for a job.

And now according to a tweet by J Herskowitz, a music writer, Winamp and SHOUTcast were not included in the axing of AOL Music. Right now, Winamp/SHOUTcast users are rejoicing.

Update: Looks like we were correct in the report, AOL-owned TechCrunch appears to have confirmed the news.
