How To: Take A Screenshot With The Kindle Fire HD

It’s widely known that you can easily take a screenshot on an Apple device such as an iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad by pressing the home button and power button. However, since I just got my Kindle Fire HD 8.9″ tablet the other day, I’ve been looking for a way to take screenshots with the device but unfortunately didn’t have much luck, until now.

I stumbled across how to take a screenshot on a Kindle Fire HD after fiddling around with the volume and power buttons on the tablet when suddenly the screen flashed and the tablet made a photo taking noise. So now, I’m going to share this tip with you. You can easily take a screenshot on the Kindle Fire HD without any additional software, all you need to do is the following:

Press and hold the volume down button and the power button at the same time, wait a second, and the screen will flash to let you know you’ve successfully taken the screenshot. It can be a little tricky to get both buttons held down at the same time, so if you see the volume slider pop up on the devices display, just wait a second for it to disappear and try holding down both buttons again.

All of the screenshots will be stored in the Photos app in a folder called Screenshots. Once you open them, you can easily email them to yourself or others.

If you have any questions or additional tips, feel free to leave a comment! I’ve included one screenshot below that I just took while testing this out.
