Why My Hd Is Shared To The Public?

Recommended Posts

I never allow sharing of my HD to the public when i found out today. I connected to my college public network. and it required my ID and my password to use their network. So i did and it conencted but one thing. i found out when i went to Network and click on Server and found my shadows-computer.local there and i click on it and found out all my data is shared. iim freaking out about this. i cant find a option to turn off the sharing. I already looked in my Mac Help and im not getting any info from it.

Thanks

So what your seeing is your local directory in your "Finder" when you click on Network "called Network Browser", not from another computer on the network, correct.

This shows all servers that you can connect to and one of those is your own. This does not mean other people see or can connect to you, even if you were sharing it they would need a name and password to gain access.
