Problem In Ie> Open In New Window

Recommended Posts

My firewall "did" something to my registry and now whenever I'm in IE 6 and try to Open a link in a New Window, I get the smallest imaginable title bar and nothing else.

I'm running Win98SE.

I've been prowling around the registry and think the fix should be in:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Internet Explorer/Document Windows

where I found the following values that I changed

name - old data - changed to

width - 00 00 00 80 - 00 00 04 00

height - 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 04 00

Maximized - "yes" - not changed

x - 00 00 00 80 - 00 00 04 00

y - 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 04 00

This had no effect. And yes, I did reboot.

Any Ideas???

Please Help

This is driving me crazy

Thanks

OMG I am toooooo impatient for my own good.

Sitting here, I re-read your post and noticed

close the first one

of course, I had 5 or 6 open IE windows.

So, I closed them all and then enlarged and maximized the problem one, and closed it. rebooted just to be sure

AND thank you - i was blind and now i see

Thanks terrorist,

I should have known this, but, well ...

you must have known what you were

doing

to mess aroud with registry

even the experts on all these boards

say leave well alone

you may have to reinstall

unless you remember what values you changed

in the registry

weeve all been through your problem

and learned the hard way.

if youve changed the reg

only some one with reg knowledge can help
