Thunderbird Reply Format

Recommended Posts

I use Mozilla Thunderbird 1.5 as my primary email client. I have but one issue that up until now has not been an issue. When I reply to an email it ads the reply to the bottom of the page I would like to have it at the top. I have searched for the option many times to no avail. I think it is a issue of not seeing the forest for the trees. Please if anyone of you can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Preston,

I actually had the same issue a while back and yes, there is a way to change it to the top.

In Thunderbird

Tools

Account Settings...

Under you account info Composition & Addressing

Tick Automatically quote the orignal message when replying (if not ticked)

In the drop down menu select Start my reply from above the quote

Ok

That should do it B)

Defaulting to bottom posting encourages the poster to trim the quoted material properly. Besides which top posting is considered a breach of ettiqutte in many Usenet groups and Mailing lists.

apparently the group my wife is assigned to in class cares nothing for ettiqutte.
