Subject: John Kerry is a saint."

Kerry was going to visit the Catholic National Cathedral outside

Washington as part of his campaign.

Kerry's campaign manager made a visit to the Cardinal and said to him,

"We've been getting a lot of bad publicity among Catholics because of

Kerry's position on abortion and the like. We'd gladly make a

contribution to the church of $100,000 if during your sermon you'd say

John Kerry is a saint."

The Cardinal thinks it over for a moment and agrees to do it.

Kerry shows up, and as the Mass progresses the Cardinal begins his

homily.

"John Kerry is petty, a self absorbed hypocrite and a nit-wit. He is a

liar, a cheat, and a thief. He is the worst example of a Catholic I've

ever personally known. But compared to Ted Kennedy, John Kerry is a

saint."

Please Don't say anything about other people's religions or sexuality on these forums. I don't want to be held responsible for having people's feelings or beliefs hurt by saying something that you didn't know would cause a problem with someone else on these forums. There are many different types of people in the world and on message boards and the internet in gerneral. So just in case there is someone here who is gay this would offend them. It would also make me look bad, and we don't want that now do we?

So please do not post anything about religion or sexuality on these boards. I hope you understand where I am coming from.

I let this thread stay because I thought it would be fun seeing what people had to say about Kerry and Bush. If this thread gets out of control it will be removed. The two posts made about gays are going to be removed.

Thanks for understanding

Hi cowsgonemadd3,

What do you mean you left this thread here

What I mean was I didn't really want to have problems with members flaming each other because of there beliefs and who they were going to vote for. So I wasn't sure if it was going to work out well, but I let it stay and everything was fine until those two posts. Now that you know, I know you guys/gals won't post things like that anymore. The thread is fine right now. I just want want members flaming other members for who they are going to vote for. That's all.

out of control it will be removed.  What does that mean? How could it...

What I mean is what I said above by members flaming other members, and posting offensive post. Now if that doesn't happen anymore which it shouldn't because now you know not to post things like that. The thread will not be removed.

Thanks again for understanding.

I'm pleading the 5th on this whole subject...I kind of feel that the discussion of politics in mixed company can really lead to some nasty conversations...I'm with B in hoping that it doesn't here....besides, who a person votes for is kind of a personal thing anyway. Maybe that's just how I was brought up...my parents wouldn't even ever tell me who they were voting for (though with my dad it was BLATENTLY obvious...he's pretty liberal).

Anyhoo....that's just my 1/100 of a dollar x 2.

Hi JSKY

As a Vietnam vet 1969-1971

I and the DAV and VFW have no respect for Kerry

Scary thought that he is the best the democrats could find

Vietnam record of 4 months accepting purple hearts for a Band Aid cut

Is a discredit to my two friends with the Congressional Medal of Honor and many earned silver stars and purple hearts

Committed perjury or is a war criminal.......that be a fact...one or the other

I dont know you, and I dont know even if youre old enough to vote or not. It doesnt matter. What does matter though is that you dont realize the trouble that political debates can cause. This thread (though i have not voted and will not vote on here) appears to be comments people are making about presidential candidates. Any one in their right mind knows that people will argue if the wrong thing is said about the candidate they choose. Things can get out of hand. B is simply stating that he does not and will not allow that to happen on his boards. If this isnt enough explanation for you, id be happy to give you a lesson.

where and when i grew up..asking someone who they were voting for..was akin to asking how much money was in their wallet..both taboo and serious breaches of social etiguette..and given the current polarized political environment..such topics are likely to rapidly become shouting matches..and degrade into silly soliloguies..

that said..i will add this quote..which i find appropiate:

"Those who cast their vote decide nothing; Those who count the votes decide everything."

Well put Wayne - that's precisely my thoughts on things. This is a tech board, not a politics board. Yes, I realize that our next president will be able to radically shape the nation's use of technology and information over the next 4 years, but that's not what I'm getting at. As Wayne said, these types of discussions usually dwindle off into meaningless shouting matches and name-calling. It's just counter-productive.

Now, a discussion on where the country should be going with some of the newer technology available to us in the coming years...THAT would make a good topic I think.

This is to nic....I have a post just like this on Bleepingcomputer.com it has over 75 posts and not one has gotten out of control. Ok next all I asked is who your voting for and your opinion. I dont ask for 1000 people here to harrass each other over there vote. Everyone has there own opinion and should be able to share it freely! Please keep it clean so we can see what everybody thinks! Please? And to wayne you dont have to put who you voted for its hidden in the poll! LOL knowone can see your vote like in real life!

Thanks all!
