I have a dell 8200 thats 2 and a half years old and on it there are two 256-RDRAM rimm pc800 modules installed along with two continuity modules. I want to upgrade to a gig of ram so i was wondering if i can take one continuity module out and just put a 512 mb rimm module in its place.

yes, remove those continuity sticks anytime, and replace them with ram sticks. you must have all those ram slots filled with something, they cannot be empty at anytime whatsoever.

also, find out your systems ram limit, you can probably go higher than 1 GB of ram. although, 1GB of ram really is quite enough, i would think, as both of my pc's have 1GB of ram each, and by the way, one pc i have does use RDRAM as yours does.

Hi omarramo12

As pro1driver stated, all your RAM slots must be filled to work, but your machine can only support 1G of RAM so don't bother going any higher than that.
