hi TT

i cant get out of dos

every thing i do takes me back to the black screen

it wont read my cd so i cant repair

i can get in with floppys

win 98 and maxtor scanner

so i can delete the sys

but i was trying to save it

when i got this notice for the update

which means ile have to reinstall

my vista disk has so many installs

so ime not sure how many i have left

you say the virus scanner could have caused it

ok ive had just reinstalled avast

to the new version

so maybe that was the cause of the problem

on the forum

coupla other posters have had the same trouble

but didnt say the cause

they blamed the sp1 update

i have never had this trouble before

so ime open to suggestion

thanks for your post

HI

seems microsoft must be aware off this sp1 problem

as i had to reinstall

vista

i couldnt move from the dos screen

so i had to clean my disk with the maxtor

floppy

then reinstall

when i finished reinstalling

microsoft didnt ask for a

validation like they usually do

so i assumed they are aware of this ptoblem

from now on i intend to take TT"S

ADVICE

and select the updates i put on my compt
