I have a machine win98 P2 128 ram 10GB hdd.

Took all forever to clean temp/cookies/whatnots. and run scandisk defrag. machine is quick for is's specs.

at start up after win 98 splash screen, I get a line ~ C:\set class path C:\program Files\Photo Deluxe 2\AdobeConnectables ~ (~ is not in the line) what is windows looking for. so far I have no problems just curious.

Hello Mikex,

My gateway (Win98 and exact specs as yours, too) does the exact same thing and has since day one. Try looking in Start/Programs. I have Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Photo Deluxe there. I know how Acrobot Reader works but have never tried Photo Deluxe. Liz

I believe that the computer is not looking for anything.

What the "path" statement does is inform the computer

and programs -- In this case, Adobe Photo Deluxe -- where

to look for it's data and other files.

This kind of smacks back to the old DOS days when

most program installations would append the path statement.
