Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600)

MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180

Hi there. Please can you help me.

1) When I drag and drop on the desktop or in any of the folders, then system locks when I drop.

2) If I left click on the toolbar file button, the system locks

3) If I right click on a file or folder the system locks

4) If I right click on the START button the system locks

5) The pointer drifts slowly across screen at different times. But the mouse is clean.

Running windows XP home edition with all recent updates. Norton anti

virus and internet security, AVG, Spybot, Ad-Aware SE. Have also run several webb based scans but the problem still persists. Disabled all protection but still the same. Tried system restore to no avail. Now its

really beginning to annoy me, as its been going on for about six months. My desktop is covered with icons and my Unused Desktop Shortcut folder is bursting.

The only way that I can delete anything is by using ERASURE V 5.6 that still allows me to drag and drop files into its On-Demand page

If any one could please help me it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

ADAware reconfig as suggested.

Ran scan and deleted several items, mostly cookies.

Ran CW Shredder again OK.

Ran Spybot again OK

AVG Sheduled Test and Updates daily. (Read that I should only be running one Anti-virus programme at a time. What are your views on this as I run both AVG and Norton Sytem.)

Ran Trend and deleted two items.

Downloaded and ran TDS-3. No Trojan Mutexes.

Auto Window Updates when XP Home was installed

Spyware Blaster installed 1 year.

All protection manually updated every week.

Here is my latest HJT log

Hello there dknoppix. Thank you for looking at my posting but I have made some changes since my last post. Here is a brief description plus a new HJT log analyzed by KRC Hijack this analyzer

Have made a few changes. Here is a desription and a new HJT log using KRC Hijack this analyzer

Eliminated Panda

Removed all Agnitum/outpost references.but couldnt remove from Add/Remove Progs untill I re-booted to get it to open. Done

Did not yet remove AVG as I would like to know how and if I can keep it on my system to be able to use every week as Norton doesn't pick up on everything. But will remove on your say so.

Unable then to open in Safe Mode (1st time thats happened)

Ran HJT ver 1.99.1 but the following were not found.

01 - Hosts: 64.91.255.87 www.dcsresearch.com

020 - AppInit_DLLs: PAVWAIT.DLL

Ran scan with HJT ver 1.99.0 but still could'nt find

Ran KRC HJT Analyzer (I think I did it right) and here is the result.txt log

Log was analyzed using KRC HijackThis Analyzer - Updated on 2/10/05

End of KRC HijackThis Analyzer Log.

================================================== ========

Oh by the way. Yes I am able to delete items. But my desktop is a bit of a mess as I am unable to organise my files. I can use the Desktop Cleanup Wizard, but this just creates a folder with lots and lots of different files in it.

Not good. Also I am unable to click on a file or folder to move or send it to a different location without the system locking up on me.

Once again thankyou for looking at my posts for me. Regards Chris

Hi,

Can you please post a real HijackThis log, because these "HijackThis Automated Scanners" can have false-positives, also we are not trained in reading KRC logs. This will make it easyer for us and you.

Thanks,

dk
