No Route To Host

I am lost

I have a box that I remote into and I am trying to ssh to another to get to a different subnet..

I can ping the box, but when I ssh I get no route to host

I am lost..

I added the 192.168.99.0 with the .1 GW (.1 is this machine.. there is no router on this subnet)

also iptables is off.

it looks looks like I had a forward rule somewhere for that address which was wrong
