Vista Dll Problems....help Me Please!

Recommended Posts

Can you restore your system back to a time before you made this change?

To do this. Type "sys" into the "Start Search" box at the bottom of the "Start Menu" (under "All Programs"). You will see the system restore option in the list under "Programs".

If that doesn't work. You may have to do a system repair.

First, Boot from your Vista installation CD.

Select your Vista Install from the list in “Windows Boot Managerâ€

· Microsoft Vista Setup (x86)

· Microsoft Vista Setup (x64)

Press enter.

You will then see “Windows is Loading Filesâ€.

Next, the “Language Screen†will come up. Since you have already selected this option when you installed Vista, just click on “Nextâ€.

Now you will see the “Vista Installation Screenâ€

DO NOT CHOOSE “Install Nowâ€

Instead, towards the bottom left of the window you will see.

· “What to know before installing Windowsâ€

· “Repair your Computerâ€

Choose and click on “Repair your Computerâ€

You will then come to the “System Recovery Optionsâ€. Choose “Microsoft Windows Vista†from the list. Then click “ Nextâ€.

Choose “Startup Repairâ€

Automatically fix problems that are preventing Windows from starting:

Startup Repair is an automated repair process that scans your Vista installation for problems and attempts to automatically fix them. When you select to repair Vista from the Vista setup screen, and Vista detects problems, this process will be started automatically.

HEY NOW, I ACCIDENTLY CHANGED MY .DLL THAT OPENED FROM UNKOWN APPLICATIONS TO NOW OPEN WITH THE SOUND RECORDER. THIS HAS LEFT MY DLL LIBRARY FULL OF DLL'S THAT USE THE SOUND RECORDER TO OPEN. HOW TO I CHANGE THE DLL PROPERTIES BACK TO THE WAY IT WAS, OPENING WITH AN UNKNOWN PROGRAM????

I would just go to my computer => Tools => Folder options => file types

Or do it through control panel.

Locate file type .dll and select it and choose remove.

That will remove the file association.
