Virus?[INACTIVE]

Recommended Posts

I suspect there is a virus that I may not have quarantiened correctly when the Mcafee program caought it a few months ago. Subsequesn Mcafee and Spybot scans haven't helped. Symptoms are erratic connections and slow performance. In addition, the Mcafee program started to have problems. It indicated it was missing a program file. I removed and reinstalled it, but it still says it's missing a file. Please review the Hijackthis log. any help would be appreciated.

Hello and Welcome to BT. :)

I am MoNsTeReNeRgY22 and I will be assisting you with your malware problem today.

Step 1

Please re-open HijackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =

O9 - Extra button: Corel Network monitor worker - {66D82A45-C21D-47CA-B6F5-129C057826E6} - (no file)

O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Corel Network monitor worker - {66D82A45-C21D-47CA-B6F5-129C057826E6} - (no file)

O15 - Trusted Zone: http://secure.gestrip.com (HKLM)

O15 - Trusted Zone: http://update.randhi.com (HKLM)

O16 - DPF: {43331111-1111-1111-1111-611111195622} - http://www.www2.p0rt2.com/files/MirarSetup-875498.cab

O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} - http://software-dl.real.com/24dfffd5c5d5c7...tzip/RdxIE2.cab

O16 - DPF: {DBA230D1-8467-4e69-987E-5FAE815A3B45} -

Now close all windows other than Hijackthis, then click Fix Checked. Close HijackThis.

Step 2

Download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) to your Desktop.

  • Close all applications and windows.
  • Double-click on DSS.exe to run it, and follow the prompts.
  • When it has finished, dss will open two Notepads main.txt and extra.txt -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply.

Extra Note: When running DSS, some firewalls may warn that sigcheck.exe is trying to access the internet - please ensure that you allow sigcheck.exe permission to do so. Also, it may happen that your Antivirus flags DSS as suspicious. Please allow the Deckard's System Scanner to run and don't let your Antivirus delete it. (In this case, it may be better to temporary disable your Antivirus)
