help team

recently

i went to the synaptic packages

and in stalled the kubuntu from ubuntu packages

and the transition went ok

but now i cant login to kubuntu with the ubuntu

p-word

in the transition there was no option for a

kubuntu user name nor p-word

so i presumed the kubuntu imported the changes

the user name seems ok but the p-word dosent allow me entry

ive tries other -p-words

but the message says wrong login

when i enter the previous ubuntu p-word

it excepts it but then takes me back to the login page

i cannot revert back to the ubuntu sys as there is no option for it in the start menu

all options take me to kubuntu

so ime stuck with a sys i cannot log into

ime a fan on kde

i tried to order the kubuntu disks from shipit

but the site has been down for a coupla days

is there any way i can login

or do i have to

delete the ubuntu partitions

and start all over again

thanks

marty

ok ive sussed out the dam thing

first i couldnt get in without the p-word

so i deleted the ubuntu partitions

reinstalled ubuntu then

installed kde from there

or[ kubunutu]

and found it isnt to bad sort of a sys

tho there are few things i have to learn

ime finding things all the time

the secret is in downloading the right

packages

but ime able to make kde my default home page

and that is a help

tho ime only touching the surface

ime learning all the time

this post is comming from kde

and it is a bit more complicated than ubuntu

it is just as good as win xp

perhaps a bit harder to configure.tho

my advice to a new user

is to use ubuntu first then

go to othere linux sys's

marty
