1) The writing to disc light stays lit for 10 to 15 minutes while nothing is going on other than the pc is much slower than usual.

2) When I am on a web page, usually Comcast.net my left click will not work properly. I replaced the mouse and the problem remains.

3) A very small pop up flashes for only about one second when I leave the home Comcast.net web page to follow a link to another story. The pop up advertises "E trade" and I have only seen this at the Comcast.net home page.

>I called Comcast and they feel it is malware, also, the other PC in our home does not have this pop up. I had Adaware se and Norton IS 2007.

>I removed the old Adaware and installedd the neww free version and Spybot S&D. Ran them both: removed only tracking cookies.

>Installed Ewido anti-spyware. Did not get the log, but it found trogin.small and deleted it.

> I still have the pop up.

>No browser hijack, Norton IS detects no virus.

>I have not looked to see what process is using the cpu, when the PC seems busy.

>I have read the FAQ and am attempting to follow the directions for using you help.

Below is the Hijackthis log obtained after all the above was done.

Thanks for any help.

Welcome to BestTechie. Sorry about the delay in getting to your thread.

If you still require assistance, please post a new hijack this log and an uninstall list. If you have resolved this issue, please let me know so that I may close this topic.

To get the uninstall list, do the following:

  • Open HijackThis, click Config, click Misc Tools
    Click "Open Uninstall Manager"
    Click "Save List" (generates uninstall_list.txt)
