So, today, while I was using the computer, I get a message (Disk space running low), so I checked and was amazed to see I only had 50Megabytes of space left. (Vista is just on a 20GB parition).

so, I googled around and found about this program called CCleaner.

Used it, and it cleared around 4 gigs of useless stuff.

Amazing Program and it's free!

CCleaner and ATF Cleaner used wrong can remove necessary items. This thread really doesn't fit in with the topic of this section. This is for Vista tweaks and tips. Those two programs are for cleaning unwanted remnants of any Windows OS.

i was using CCleaner

for some years

actually when it first came on the scene

and i found it quite dangerous

if not used properly

as well it wasnt saving me any space

as at the time i was limited in my resources

it dosent save any more space then the usual

cleaning of your compt

to clean all the extensions

which is what CCleaner does

they danger is that it will take a d.ll file as it did for me

which i couldnt replace

and had to reinstall windows

there are safer appli's out there

to do this task

ime not condeming the apply only pointing out the dangers

for a new user

it maybe ok for an experienced campaigner

but to a new user

take care

i would not have it on my sys again

at the time there were no warnings of the pit falls from the program

but later when all these complaints came in they issued a warning to all users

so if martini uses it successfully. ok

but point out the dangers of the program

I use it along with Cleanup and ATF no problems so far.

I like the fact that it has a "mild" registry cleaner that asks to make a backup before making changes. Reg cleaners can get folks in to some deep poo.

I have it on my portable drive, able to install it quick and painlessly.
