New Features in Task manager

G'Day!

Today's tip is something that many a Power User, as well as anyone else too, will find very handy at times.

Many times we wished there were an easier way to find out what Services were calling and opening certain processes, or in reverse, just what processes were associated to what Service?

Well now Task Manager offers us an easy way to see this information!

Simply open Task Manager by using the well known CTRL+ALT+DEL keyboard shortcut, or right click an open section of the taskbar and select Task Manager.

Right click on the process you want to find the associated Service for, and select "Go To Service(s)". This switches the view now to the Services tab Window and if the process is being called by a Service or multiple services, they will be highlighted in the Services window. This is especially helpful for all those "svchost" entries that we've all wondered about just what they're doing...now we can see this easily.

This can also be used in reverse as well, to see what Service is calling what processes. In the Services tab in TM, right click on any Service and if it has any running processes associated with it, you'll see the "Go To Process" option is now enabled. Clicking on this will now switch the view to the Processes tab, and any running processes associated with this Service will be highlighted.

While this tip is mostly Informational, it can be very useful at times for troubleshooting other issues when needed.

I hope you'll find this tip comes in handy for you someday!
