Virus, Adware, I Dunno

Recommended Posts

I'm new to bettechie's forums, though I've known him for some time, and finally I've left in a situation where I think I really need help. I did something rather stupid (20/20 hindsight) which I shouldn't, and am afraid I have something malevolent on my computer. Did a HJT scan and here's the log:

  • Select:
    • Delete on Reboot
    • then Click on the All Files button.

[*]Please copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ninojq\winlogon.exe

[*] Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose Paste from Clipboard.

[*]Click the red-and-white Delete File button. Click Yes at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click OK at any PendingFileRenameOperations prompt (and please let me know if you receive this message!).

If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run Killbox, click here to download and run missingfilesetup.exe. Then try Killbox again.

Then reboot your computer and post a new HJT log.

Alright, getting better.

Open HJT again, tick and have it remove the following (make sure you close any explorer and internet explorer windows before doing so)

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {BA29763D-C9FB-E27C-F9E8-E6FBFD1423E5} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\wgbiantd.dll

  • Please double-click Killbox.exe to run it.
  • Select:
    • Delete on Reboot
    • then Click on the All Files button.

[*] then Click on the All Files button.

[*]Please copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

C:\WINDOWS\TWljaGFlbCBCZWlnZWxtYWNoZXI\command.exe

C:\WINDOWS\system32\wgbiantd.dll

Then reboot the computer then post a brand new HJT log along with the following:

Open HijackThis, click Config, click Misc Tools

Click "Open Uninstall Manager"

Click "Save List" (generates uninstall_list.txt)

Click Save, copy and paste the results in your next post.

Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)

Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd

Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).

Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop.

Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%

(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :

  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
  • Choose your usual account.

  • Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
  • Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
  • It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
  • Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
  • When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
  • Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
(Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum).
  • Finally paste the contents of the Report.txt back on the forum with a new HijackThis log

In HJT (close all explorer windows once again and remove this line)

O23 - Service: Command Service (cmdService) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\TWljaGFlbCBCZWlnZWxtYWNoZXI\command.exe (file missing)

Next with Killbox just like before select Delete on Reboot option and have it delete this file:

C:\WINDOWS\TWljaGFlbCBCZWlnZWxtYWNoZXI\nq53u3I5vF1Ftq5BtqUQsqhCtrK.vbs

Then Please Download MsnVirRem.exe to your desktop from one of the following mirrors.

[*]First close any other programs you have running as this will require a reboot

[*]Double click MsnVirRem.exe to run it

[*]Once open, click the button labelled "Search and Destroy"

<<Your computer will now be scanned for Infected Files>>

[*]When scanning is finished you will be prompted to reboot only if infected, Click OK

[*]Now click the "REBOOT" Button.

[*]After the Reboot, you WILL receive file not found errors (usually 4) please acknowledge them and continue.

[*]A Message should popup from MsnVirRem if not, double click the program again and it will finish

After you reboot, unhide all hidden files and folders - open My Computer -> Tools -> Folder Options -> View Tab -> Tick Show hidden files and folders

Then go to C:\Windows\ and look for this folder: TWljaGFlbCBCZWlnZWxtYWNoZXI (If present delete it)

After that post a new HJT log along with the MSNVirRem log.
