Heya Marty,

A reinstall of windows was unnecessary but for the next time you encounter the issue...

I usually go about deleting the partitions the same way you mentioned - Reboot with Windows CD (CD drive set as first boot device in BIOS, of course), enter the recovery console (press R when it asks you whether you want to install windows {if memory serves me}), When you're at the console, type:

fixmbr

This will remove the grub bootloader and let windows boot normally.

fixmbr should do the trick.

If you'd like more info, I found this explanation very helpful:

hi thanks for the link

ive had the ubuntu 6.6 disk for some time

and when i installed it i used two drives

to dual boot it with xp

so i bought a bigger hdd

and was going to dual boot on the one drive

but i needed windows for the time being

so i uninstalled ubuntu

but couldnt get back into windows

thank marty
