Sell A Xp Disc Without Coa?

Recommended Posts

Is their any legal constaints that involve selling a windows XP disc without a COA? This would be useful for people who have a COA on their computer, but no disk to do reinstalls.

You can copy an original CD for your own use but I do believe it is illegal to sell a copy of XP. If you were to sell the original disk with the COA it would be legal.

Since you're not providing them a license anyway, why not just give them a copy of an XP OEM disc.

So I don't end up paying microsoft a huge fine.

You are more likely to irk them by charging for the disc than for simply giving it away.

They don't care about the discs, they care about licenses.
