  1. Get well soon, my friend! I hope your recovery is speedy and uneventful. Take it easy, man.
  2. HUH? Do I smell a spam? Looks like spam to me as well, Joe. I removed that post. Thanks for the heads-up:)
  3. Happy Birthday, marty:)
  4. Yet another blonde joke. A blind man and his guide dog enter a bar and find their way to a bar stool. After ordering a drink, and sitting there for a while, the blind guy yells to the bartender, "Hey, you wanna hear a blonde joke?" The bar immediately becomes absolutely quiet. In a husky, deep voice, the woman next to him says, "Before you tell that joke, you should know something, the bartender is blonde, the bouncer is blonde, and I'm a 6' tall, 200 lb. blonde with a black belt in karate. What's more, the woman sitting next to me is blonde and she's a weight lifter. The lady to your right
  5. You can say that again.. B Eep.......I bet your heart stopped beating when it fell over.
  6. They're not intelligent enough to pull Obama's strings. The string puller must be smarter than the puppet, that is why it worked so well with Bush. Agreed. Obama is no fool.

    H1N1

I've started eating lots of fruits and vegetables in the last three months. I've managed to avoid infection so far.
  8. Installed FreeBSD 7.2 with guh-nome yesterday in a VM on my main Slackware work station. I was bored:) I like FreeBSD, but, not enough to run it on my HD. Slackware FTW!

I can understand your hesitation given your past experience. I haven't heard of any catastrophic side effects up here in Canada with the H1N1 vaccine. I think it is safe.

Hi TT_75, Good to hear your niece's family has weathered the storm as well! H1N1 is miserable indeed. My 15 year old is out of the woods methinks. So far no one else in my family has caught it........yet. If I've learned anything from this experience it is do not wait to administer tamiflu if you suspect that your loved ones have H1N1. The malady progresses very rapidly.

Hi Pat, and marty:) Thanks, my friends for your well wishes, prayers. Laura is getting better, the Tamiflu is working. Her appetite is still weak, but, she's on the mend. I'm watching my family now for symptoms. So far so good.
  13. slayer1927, Good to hear you sorted stuff out. I agree with iccaros, running df -h will give you an idea how much room you have on your hard drive for Ubuntu. df -h will show you how your hard drive is divided up into partitions. Then you can see how much space you have for saving media files, data, documents, etc. Click on------>Terminal Inside the terminal prompt you can type in the command df -h and look at your HD layout.

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers, Liz! I appreciate that a lot. Thank goodness for research and development. Tamiflu is working. Yes. The fatigue is miserable indeed. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, hopefully the virus passes the rest of us by.

OMG hitest, I'm sorry to hear about Laura being sick. I hope she gets well very soon. Will say a prayer for your daughter. Keep us updated, as I'm sure you will. Take care my friend. Hi Barb, Thank you for your prayers, my friend! The Tamiflu works very quickly, thank goodness. Laura is taking two pills per day for the next five days. Laura's extreme symptoms (chest pain, fever, vomiting, coughing) are fading. Laura is very tired. I'm taking the day off from work tomorrow to watch Laura. My wife will watch her on Tuesday. I know now what to watch for. I'll rush my 6 year old to the ER

    H1N1

Thank you, my friends:) I appreciate this a lot. I've calmed down a lot. Laura is sleeping soundly now; she had chest pains, muscle aches, and vomiting during the night. I suspect the tamilflu is kicking in.

Yeah....I know she'll probably be okay. It is just tough to watch her be so ill. Four more hours and then I can get her prescription. Thanks man!

Scary stuff.....I took my 15 year old daughter to the hospital an hour ago; she has classic, escalating H1N1 symptoms. She's had her first dose of tamilflu, I'll be getting her prescription for more anti-virals at 11:00 am. We're keeping her isolated from our 6 year old. I'm frightened.
