  1. You probably need to download a codec pack, like K-Lite http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm Anyway, VLC Player plays everything and it's free. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
  2. Mine's pretty basic. No Script Adblock Plus Foxmarks Tab Scope
  3. The rest of the specs between the two are for the most part the same. 4GB of Ram, 320GB HD, Vista Home Premium 64-bit OS. and dedicated video cards. The Intel gives you the choice of a (Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD or 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 9200M GS for the Intel. (Not sure which to get) or The AMD system which has a ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics. There's about a hundred to one fifty differences between the Intel and AMD models. I also heard that AMD's run hotter than the Intel.
  4. I'm in the process of ordering a new laptop from Costco. They let you custom order HP's and it comes with a free 2yr warranty and still cheaper than Best Buy. My problem is, I'm not sure if I should go with intel or AMD. I know everyone's going to say go with intel but the AMD is cheaper. This is going to be used for work and watching videos, no gaming. The two CPU's I'm thinking of are: AMD Turion X2 Ultra Dual-Core Mobile Processor ZM-80 (2.1 GHz) or Intel® Core2 Duo Processor T6400 (2.0GHz) I've tried looking for info on comparing them but can only find old data (2005-2007). Nothing current
  5. Your best bet would be to partition your internal hard drive and install Windows there.
  6. It's possible that the lens is dirty. You could try a Laser Lens Cleaner. You can get one at Walmart or Best Buy.

  9. What OS are you using? I think you need more RAM, at least 512MB for XP.
  10. Yes IMO, Firefox is better than IE and Opera. It's fully customizable with add-ons and themes. It seems to be the fastest too.
  11. That's a good deal. Does the picture look good? I'm looking for a 22' monitor myself
  12. Never really liked AVG. Avast is a better program IMO.
  13. I have File Scavenger that can recover almost anything. It's $50.00 but worth every penny. http://www.quetek.com/prod02.htm Other ones you can try if you want free programs are Undelete Plus http://undelete-plus.com/ PC Inspector http://www.pcinspector.de/Sites/file_recov....htm?language=1
  14. Just out of curiosity, Is the PSU dead and your wanting to replace if or are you planning to upgrade components in the PC. If It's the second, go with a stronger PSU.
  15. It doesn't say anywhere on the PSU itself? Doing a quick search I've come up with the number 185.6W but that seems low. I found it on this website http://www.tamayatech.com/parts.php?i=146874521
  16. Maybe this? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16812232002
  17. I have a HP Pavilion dv6000t laptop with 2GB of RAM, Nvidia 7400. I'm trying to do a fresh install but I keep running into problems. I have tried with the recovery partition and the recovery DVD discs. I keep getting errors during the installation. These are some of the errors. 1) Windows could not parse the unattended answer file for pass [specialize]. The settings specified in the answer file cannot be applied. The error was detected while processing settings for component [Microsoft-Windows-Deployment]. 2) The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows insta
  18. I have XP on my desktop and Vista on my laptop. I've never really had a problem with Vista but it is slower and heavier on the resources. Vista looks cool but I still like the old familiar XP

  21. I used Panda for a while and never really had any problems. I'm currently using ESET Nod32 and have to say I really like it. It's lightweight and hasn't let any thing in. I think Newegg is selling the OEM version for $20.00 right now
