ok........since you asked...providing you have the time. here's my situation...I do a lot of techinal drawings and the program I use only deals in decimal. I measure something that shows 138 inches I need it to show as 11ft.-6in. if it's too much trouble don't worry.................thanks.

the player in IE does work better that's why I use it...I have other sites I visit where the firefox player works just as well...the only one I have problems with the CNN firefox player even after clearing my cache...I don't use the pipeline subscription....you'll have to use your own judgement here...thanks for the reply and you have a good day.

just out of curosity why are the players different...isn't this what CNN uses or are these modified for the browser?

oh goody...since you guys know a lot more than I about this coding stuff I need someone to tell me how to block a popup....I have adblocker but it doesn't work and I can't find anyway to block it.... http://www.strategypage.com/default.asp this site has a big popup in the middle that says about subscribing....I can block the popup but it also disables the videos also..I want to watch the videos. help please.

ok...here's the senerio...I go to a web page...I right click on the page..a menu box pops up with several choices...I click on "view page source"...a lot of writing opens up. ok can I modify this writing?...what happens if I modify it? just curious...

just a thought here...I keep a test machine around just for that purpose...anything I download goes on the test machine first and I keep a very close eye on any reg. changes...I know that not everyone can afford a test machine but mine was free.

that's exactly why I leave my computer on 24x7...I also surf during thunderstorms...don't waste money on a UPS...I have changed out nic cards, graphich cards, modems, and hard drives with the computer still running...haven't tried changing out ram yet.

dam satellite...expensive but pretty reliable...where I live that's the only choice...I've heard that cable is coming but it might be 40 years.

Thanks for the suggestion Dragon but there is one little problem....I only have 2 slots with 64 megs in each slot so I would have to buy 2 modules with 128 megs...I'm saving up for another computer but it will be several months.

when I type in the run box "command" the window opens up full screen. I know there is a way to make it open in a small screen but I forgot...I did the properties thing with it but it still opens full screen...so how do I fix this?

Terrorist, I thank you for leading me in the right direction...I could be wrong but I think you forgot something... this is how it works in winme: [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} in right hand pane change DEFAULT to Trash Can or whatever then I had to go down to the third line: LOCALIZED STRING @C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\shell32.dll,-8964@1033,Recycle Bin I changed that line to: @C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\shell32.dll,-8964@1033,Trash Can check that out and tell me if I'm wrong. this is where I am now. puppy linux- had internet access but couldn't get printer to work dam small linux- couldn't get screen adjusted ubuntu- not enough ram slax- corrupted iso file knoppix- so long ago I can't remember what the problem was so I guess it's back to win 3.1 and dos 5 have a nice day guys and thanks for everything.

restore is in the c directory. it is a hidden folder. view hidden files and folders. this has been edited by bearskin... personally I delete the restore folder as I never use it. but don't listen to me.
