  2. I know direcway (now hughes) has a router built into their 6000 modem but in order to isolate the two machines I put another modem in line. I had to do it this way so I didn't have to put 2 nic cards in the master machine and both would be completely independant. it's an unusual setup because two parties share the modem and I wanted the machines to be completely independant. too bad my brother in law doesn't live 100 feet closer or I could share his wireless.

  6. marty, I'm gonna explain how steam engines work... 1. the tender shovels coal or wood ino the firebox which gets real hot. 2. this heats the water in the big boiler til it turns to steam. 3. this steam goes out to the big drive pistons attached to the wheels. 4. jessee james comes along and shoot a hole in the boiler til the water drains out and the train stops. 5. jessee james then robs all the money from the train. does this explain everything? have a good day marty.

  12. well let me see what I want to rant about. we live 1/2 mile from town but we have no sewer so we have to use septic. everyone still uses propane. no building codes..man down the street just built a new, maybe $50,000 house and I'm not sure he even got a building permit. we just got cable internet about a month ago. no 911..we have a small clinic but when we have emergencies we have special insurance for a helicopter take us to the main hospital 200 miles away. no street adresses so we have po boxes or general delivery. when we order something delivered by ups we have to give a fake a

  16. just to clear thing up...it's hard to be an authority on anything unless you have had problems with it...which I don't.
  17. ok kevdad...first off let me say that I may not be of much help as I've been running WINME for almost 6 years and have had to reformat only once. have you had previous problems with WINME? BSOD is a common problem with WINME as it doesn't handle resources very well. I have to reboot daily to keep mine running well. my personal opinion is; dump MCAFEE and use a free virus scanner such as AVG or AVAST. secondly I don't quite understand the partial reformat...best do a full reformat for WINME. and as the other poster recommended check your ram. I know for a fact that WINME will run with

  19. hi guys and exquisite ladies...I just got a message from drew and he said that his forum will probably expire 9/24/2006. I invited him to visit here occasionaly and say hello to us. both drew and mac went overboard to give us a place to meet during the time jeff was down. I for one really appreciate this effort on their parts.
  20. well you guys were right...you keep telling me that WINME is a piece of crap and I didn't believe you...after 5 YEARS of running faithfully, I came home today and the mouse was frozen...I did a reboot and everytime windows loaded it would go right back to reboot, load and then go right back to reboot...a vicious circle. I booted to safe mode tried to run AVG and it rebooted again. finally I turned off the computer and waited for 5 minutes, turned on the computer and windows loaded fine. I ran all my updated scans and it was clean...then I did a scanreg /fix and rebooted again...now it's run
  21. I wouldn't be so nice...I would go knock on the neighbor's door and ask him if he has a problem with my cows in his yard.

  23. I am not exactly sure. In plumbing it is used to help the solder both flow and bind to the metal. I believe it is used in the same way for electronics. flux is used for removing oxidation from the metal fittings. oxidation comes from exposure to the air..... it's dirty.
  24. sounds familiar. when I go visit my kids from a previous marriage, my present wife asks..."going to see your other wife?"
