  1. Full details at PC Advisor - http://www.pcadvisor...?newsid=3206742 I'm downloading it now. Thanks for the link. I missed Office 2007 completely and am still using 2003. Looking forward to checking this out. It looks like the desktop suite and the web based version are two different animals? Is that true? Joe
  2. Sorry I missed the party. I've been awol. Hoping your day was a blast. Joe
  3. Hi Marty. Global warming is probably the most pressing issue today. The sad fact is that every day we wait to make serious changes, more damage is done. Irreversible damage is only a matter of time. Unfortunately last weeks summit in Copenhagen did not accomplish anything. Although we do now have a president that can at least spell global warming. That's a start I guess. Most thinking people here know that it's real and needs to be dealt with. Politcians are as usual among the last ones to come on board. .........Yes there are also a lot of people that either don't understand it or choose not
  4. I love the beards after a few days. Funny. There's an article in yesterday's NY Times about the volunteers who do that for EveryStreetMap. Looks like fun. Two hundred of them converged on Atlanta last month to update the maps.
  5. Odd, I would swear I replied to the above. I made a specific reference to how cool the word 'cicatrice' was [i had to look it up in the dictionary ]. Maybe I'm just getting too old to recollect properly, or didn't post properly, or my browser may have crashed when I replied (it's happened a number of times this week since I updated to Opera 10.01.). 6. I wish one would wash up around here. It might cool things off for awhile. All kidding aside, that sounds pretty serious!
  7. Well, I'm still researching cell phones. I think the choice is going to be a Verizon family plan with 2 phones. I am now considering the HTC Droid Eris for myself. It's listed at Newegg for $49.99 with the dreaded two year commitment. That's half the price as everywhere else. I never used a capacitive touch screen phone before. Not sure if it will be a problem or not. From what I've read the only drawbacks seems to be battery life and Android 1.5. The OS is supposed to be upgraded to Android 2.0 in the near future, so the latter is probably not a big issue. As I mentioned in my earlier posts,

Antioxidants my A*** that is old school and really not valid; most of that crap is disproven. On the otherhand, there is a compound called Naringenin which is present in Grapefruit rinds; It is the most potent naturally occurring antiviral that is safe to take. In NIH supervised tests it even stopped hepatitis virus from replicating. Available as naringen I think antioxidents are very useful. I also LOVE grapefruit, and have a few trees. I'll try using the zest from the fruit. I'm assuming that it's from the zest...or is it the pith? Thanks for the info. Joe
  10. They're not intelligent enough to pull Obama's strings. The string puller must be smarter than the puppet, that is why it worked so well with Bush. I could not have said that better myself.

Definately! I agree. We have a somewhat reverse growing season here in hell. I'm putting the victory garden in as we speak.
  13. Hahahahahaha. Yeah, he was sure a dufas, http://hillbuzz.org/ = "Bush is still, to this day, lampooned as a chimp, a bumbling idiot, and a poor, clumsy public speaker." And don't forget chump, bafoon, illiterate comander in cheef (or is that chief?) who took his orders from the VP. And I know this is all true, because I read it on the "internets".
  14. Droid look at phonedog they have a review Blackberry Thanks. I'm saving the Droid page. I like it. The BB review is for the T-Mobile phone, the 8220. I'm looking at the Verizon 8320.
  15. We went out to Fry's tonight and took the first look at cell phones. I like the Droid. I think it's now my first choice. The S.O. wants to get a simple to use phone for herself. She's NOT a geek. At first she wanted a dumb phone....just dial and that's it. But she took a liking to the Blackberry Pearl Flip (Verizon). Any thoughts on this phone? Oh, and it's free with a two year contract. I really like that part!
  16. ...scar cicatrice mark............Come on guy and girls.......where is everybody? I hate to reply to my own post but we don't seem to be moving forward here.

I'm not allergic to eggs. In fact I make a very good soufflé. I get the seasonal flu shot every year with no problems. I think the vaccine I got in '76 was tainted. I probably should have looked into litigation, but at the time I was young and stupid. I did get terribly sick.

I had the swine flu vaccine in '76. It almost killed me. Not sure what to do this time around. I'll ask the MD.
  19. I barely mastered my 3 button mouse. 18? Not in this lifetime.
  20. I went to get one on launch day but they wouldn't budge on the 6 weeks I had until I got my free upgrade (which kind of surprised me since you would think they want to get customers away from the iPhone). So it was either I paid full retail (which is like $560 or something) or wait until December. I'm just going to wait. From what I read though, it's still no "iPhone Killer". B Don't you just love it when they refuse to take your money? Jerks. I see that Newegg is selling it for $50 less than the Verizon website. $150 for new Verizon customers with their stupid 2 year commitment. How I hat
