Guess not.

Well, I finally took the plunge. My first iPod bought through my first Ebay purchase. IT was fun! Now I really hope that is is delivered and works as promised. 60 Gig iPod Photo with docking station, AV and Firewire cables, and case. $410. Supposed to be new, not refurbished, and in the box sealed. I was going to get the 30 gig, but I figured that I wanted one for four years now, so I might as well go all the way. I'll have to drink cheap wine for a year. Wish me luck. Joe

Well I'm ready to buy the 30 gig iPod Photo. Does anyone here have experience with 2Buy Store? According to CNET they have the best price. I do live near an Apple store and can get it for $319, but I'd have to pay about $25 sales tax. (same thing with Apples online store)

I know! It's been so dusty that I'm afraid to get my camera out of the case. Lot's of new construction though (or should I say demolition). I'll make some updates in a day or two.

You know all the "free" ipod offers where you type in your zip code to see if they are offering it in your area? And then you sign up for five items and sign up five friends so that you can all be spammed to death? Just for the hell of it I typed in 00000 as my zip code. Guess what? I qualified! They are offering free iPods in zip code 00000. LOL Try typing in ANY five numbers. Let's see if anyone can find an area that does NOT qualify. free ipod .......yeah, right OH MY! I see that they are also offering free iPods in the "ABCDE" zip code area! I think that's an island off Antartica.

Oh yeah, about that. Buy gray headphones, because lately, pickpockets have been targetting the white headphones. Gray headphones make you look like you are using a walkman, those old, cheap things. So, basically, be safe and get newer headphones in different color Ya i bought a pair of cheap looking sony earbuds and no one gives them a second look. Meanwhile someone walking around with white ones gets stared at... LOL OK. I'll use the crapola headphones that I use with my Sony Tape Walkman. And then I'll rip them apart when they start to crackle and I have to baby them. Joe

I'll have to try that. I actually have thought about writing a book about recent events. Both my parents died this past year and I'm now dealing with the family vultures. I came up with a title. "Dysfunctional With A Capital D" I'll keep you posted.

That's what I thinking too. Yesterday I hooked the modem back up to the old cable and temporarily ran it down the hall. No problems since. I WAS always getting a good DTV signal with the new cable, just the HSI portion was a problem. If I had a bad connection or cable wouldn't the DTV signal be affected along with internet? I know they are different frequencies, but it seems strange that one would be OK and the other, not.

I recently had DirecTV installed. They used a 4X2 switch and added a new line from the oudoor interface thru the attic and down a wall to provide a new Coax jack. One of the DTV signals cables (I have two) is used for both DirecTV and Cox High Speed internet. I had problems with the internet from day one of the DTV insatall. Irronically there was also a 3 day meltdown with Cox HSI durring the same period

Hi all. After three years of salivating, I think I'm finally getting my new iPod. I stopped buy the Apple store tonight and I'm impressed with what I saw. And, glad that I waited. I see that the 30 gig units now come with a color screen and the ability to save pics and view them. Anyone have any issues with this? Joe

I just got DirecTV back after 3 years of cable hell. So of course the first thing I tuned to was TSS on that g channel. What a joke. If it wasn't so sad, it would be funny. Reminded me of a really bad high school AV program. Oh well, now I have only 224 channels to watch.
