  1. I was going to jump in and suggest same as Macmarauder, but seemed too simple a solution. My daughter was sent a CD from a friend in China. Worked everywhere except the computer. We figured it was a kink between US and Chinese tech....Hopefully it is as simple as a bad CD. (and Rev.Al Green--great choice!) Liz
  2. Why is it that hefty Besttechie forum questions end up being innocent conversations between members discussing monkey wrestling and baking twinkies*? Did I win? *I cheat. Macmarauder basement nitrous oxide farm animals semi truck trowel gravity (this could be dangerous....) Liz
  3. Hi Sidekickcat, They picked on LORI?? She's so sweet and good natured about "breaking Leoville" (I break lots of things). She even wrote that she tried Linux and it wasn't for her. I'm glad you jumped in. I also use Winders---I'm not tech minded, I just do basic things (this forum is as complicated as I get), I don't really mind the maintenence (defragging, etc), makes me feel empowered with this idiot box. Just about everything is geared to work with windows. And if I break it, I have this place and the Indians at Dell Support to dig me out! Liz

    About U?

Hello Codemuffin and welcome! ....You're....a ...bunny? Oh YEAH, you will fit right in! I'm originally from Hinsdale, Madison Street, just off Odgen Ave. I understand our ranch house has been replaced by a half million dollar mansion (!) I miss Chicago....once a city girl, always a city girl. My son is a folk (Morris) dancer---*cough* download *cough* Salty Dog Rag--is that ever a fun dance. Liz
  5. *welcome Dan6996* Liz Epson desktop or laptop?
  6. Hi Sidekickcat, Bingo!!! You hit the nail on the head!! I still can't believe anyone on any board would be disrespectful to any of your comments! Just reading your posts, I can tell you have them very well thought-out and they end with a Blessing!! I looked and looked at LTS for your comments, was ready to jump in and "have your back, girlfriend" (insert attitude and finger snaps here) but couldn't find the thread (feel free to tell IF you want to). I suppose G4 wants personal stuff in the off topic forum, but most of the content there is rubbish. Besides, people hang out in particular
  7. Thank you, Suzanne! You father's method was the same as mine, must be why my daughter is such a talented (and published now!) writer! The Chronicle is the name of our area newspaper, which is so full of mistakes, it is referred to as the.... Comical
  8. Yea! And Thank you!! I will leave it blocked. Liz *edited this* One of the links farther down on Google was the Microsoft Site which was where I found the website/server/technical stuff, which had me confused, but upon double checking, the links were close but slightly different---very sly.......Liz

    Hillibilly Joke

I stole this from "Old LTS", too funny to leave it there. thanks to Andy. Copy, Paste, The son of a hillbilly family went off to college and when he returned home for Christmas, his father asked him, "What are you studying in college?" The son replied, "My favorite subject is geometry. "Well, say something for us in geometry," ordered his father. Now wanting to make his father appear ignorant in front of all their friends, he replied, "Pi R Square." The father jumped to his feet and yelled, "Them darn college professors don't know nothing. Pie are not square, pie are round. Cornbread are sq
  10. Giant Robots, definitely! But my "city" is almost a village, soooo, Cows or Goats?
  11. Laughing hysterically (too much laughing gas here), especially when looking at your avatar while reading....I'll jump in when my coffee kicks in. Liz
  12. Hi All, While Googling, Mcafee Firewall "asked" me if I wanted to allow or block Microsoft Agent Server (AGENTSVR.EXE). So I Googled it. Not much made sense except it seemed like a tool for someone who has a Website or a Server, which I don't.(waaay beyond my capabilities!) I blocked it as it seemed un-needed. Curious, did I do the right thing? Thanks alot, Liz
  13. Google:define (boy do you have a great vocabulary, Suzanne!)

    Tss Name No More

Well, I checked the G4 forums again and there is a stickied post from "the production team" describing the new format---sounds like lots of fluff and "edgy entertainment". **However, there apparently was a "tribute" to the old TSS and staff during the last 10 minutes or so of Friday's show, which touched a lot of folks on the forums.** I'm guessing it may be re-run on Monday at noon (whatever timezone Michigan is in.....Eastern, I think) Most of the old TSS was over my head, CFH was more my style, but tried to learn as much as I could understand from both shows, sad to see them go (bittorenti

    Tss Name No More

Hi Sidekickcat, They haven't changed the name of the forums yet, but I guess on March 28, the "new show" starts and they probably will change the forums then. I think they're trying to "cancel" it on purpose (I bet live tv is a challenge and expensive) Yeah, I haven't been around, went to a Folk Dance Festival in Berea, KY with son's Morris Dance team. Had a great time, sore feet, no sleep. Did see my first robin (so cold in MI that even chickadees dissapeared). Been checking out the new LTS, no, haven't signed up yet, miss the "nonsense" forums, but perhaps they'll return. You got yours
  18. *If this isn't allowed, please delete this and accept a noobies apologies* Stopped by G4 forums today and apparently the TSS show name is changing to "Attack of the Show". Ugh. I haven't watched it since the day I counted 5 "off-color words" in the first 10 minutes--TSS needed a name change, but again, ugh. Plenty of angry viewers, also. Liz
  19. I have to break the order... "Are you suggestin' coconuts migrate?" OK, Bald Python
  20. Hi Jimras, Thank you so much for the info as I have a Dell, too!! Yes, the Security Suite has worked very well (I think anyways....) My son gets mad at the automatic updates (it slows down his games, he says) but I like that feature. Less maintenance, the better! So keep an eye on the ads--right now places are offering the Suite free with Tax Software, but after tax season, some places offer the January rebate deal (staples and office max especially) And it runs about $35 at Walmart. Liz
  21. The site says March 16, but my watch still says March 15....so... ITS YOUR HAPPY-BIRFY-TO-YOU! Liz
  22. Hello JSKY, Thank you very much!!!!! Liz
  23. Anyone using SP2 and Mcafee? I use Mcafee Internet Suite, because it's what I learned on, so its easy for me and I get it free with rebates in January. Would love a "heads up" before SP2 "might" be forced upon us in April. Thanks, Liz
