  1. Usually Applications are "Well Known" because they work better. I've seen much better reviews for CCleaner than ATF Cleaner. Really it comes down to personal preference. I've used CCleaner on a wide variety of machines. Never have had any problems. Any negative reviews I have read is because they used the registry cleaner and not the temporary cleaner.

  8. "Never use MSConfig to disable startup programs no matter what others have recommended. MSConfig is for troubleshooting purposes only. If you use it to disable startups and then run the program, you may cause what is known as a memory leak which does all sorts of strange things to your system. And disabling programs and services with it can get you into trouble that only a repair install can get you out of. Please note the warning found on the Microsoft site concerning MSConfig.. Instead, use one of the following startup managers." This quote was posted in a forum that had been locked up above

  14. Switch to Avast. AVG 8.0 is way too bloated. AVG 7.0 was really good. Personally I don't use antivirus programs. Just a waste on resources. Plus I don't visit porn sites or download misc. executables.
  15. Why the heck would you manually delete them? Just use CCleaner. Duh.
  16. Are you sure you're blocking the correct MAC address? He shouldn't be able to access the web if its the correct MAC address. Edit: Removed the YouTube video link - no need to be rude.
  17. If you can get me the blue screen code I can help. You have to add a registry hack to stop it from automatically restarting so you can jot it down. You can browse through my registry hacks, its in there. Then just make a .reg file and add it to her machine. If you don't know how to make one I can help you with that.
