I keep getting pop up saying new updates are available and warning that i have no firewall do i want to start the windows one as well. Also AVG keeps warning about being out of date although when I check it says there are no updates?   10. To all kind volunteers, Firstly thank you in advance for any help you may be able to give me. I am not the most competent of people when it comes to computing but I am learning all the time. About three months ago I started having problems with my PC after a relative went online and somehow managed to switch off the antivirus. I have had a whole host of problems ranging from being re-directed to different sites, being unable to access my e mail accounts (because of redirection) Desktop screen flashing and being unable to set wallpaper and the whole pc is regularly locking up / jamming.
