  1. Happy Birthday, young man. Yer still jus a pup.
  2. Good stuff! I loved history and geography. I don't think they taught that. Heh, now-a-days, just what DO they teach?
  3. Wow! Take a look at this one!
  4. Well, mine was a 1953 Ford, flathead V-8, $75. Then a '55 Mercury convertable w/ power leather seats, power windows and enough chrome to build a new '07 Mercury. Two '57 Ford converts, a '54 Mercury "woodie" wagon and a '68 Pontiac convert. My first (and only) new car was a '74 Chevelle Laguna. It was sweet! Loaded and road worthy fast. Next was an '82 Tercell that I drove close to 200K, parked for 3 years, fired back up to drive after my van was stolen, then sold for more than I couldn't get 3 years prior. I drive vans now because I'm too old to roll in and out of these low slung cars that ma
  5. A 2006 study by Texas A&M University found that the average American walks about 900 miles per year. Another study by the American Beer Institute found that Americans drink an average of 22 gallons of beer a year. That means, on average, Americans get approximately 41 miles per gallon - not bad!
  6. Sometimes a bad battery will cause problems even when plugged in with the AC converter.
  7. We had baked ham, potato casserole, steamed asparagus and chocolate!
  8. WhooHoo! I found a universal place for all those bits and pieces. Dell and Goodwill partnership
  9. Not in MY backyard. I wonder what was there first? The subdivision or the park?
  10. Do the three R's include Rap?
  11. Have to add to the list, sites that aren't multi-browser functional. Webmasters need to take care to make sure their sites work in all the popular browsers. I Hate IE!
  12. Nice idea supported by the community. I wish more of that was going on around here. SB tried to donate some time teaching seniors for our Community Center. Bah! They were soo happy to find someone, had a waiting list, and then the school wouldn't come up with acess to the computer lab. I guess they want the revenue or a teacher to get paid for it. I Like TT's idea of the curb trick. We get rid of lots of stuff that way. We had an old beat up homemade utility trailer, loaded with "stuff" to dispose of. I put a sign on it in the drive: "Free trailer, but you gotta take all the junk" It was gon
  13. Dial up stinks. I remember almost falling asleep waiting for a page to load. I even get impatient if my 3meg slows a bit now. Like when SB is downloading something.
  14. A Doctor was addressing a large audience in Tampa. "The material we put into our stomachs is enough to have killed most of us sitting here years ago. Red meat is awful. Soft drinks corrode your stomach lining. Chinese food is loaded with MSG. High fat diets can be disastrous, and none of us realizes the long-term harm caused by the germs in our drinking water. But there is one thing that is the most dangerous of all and we all have, or will, eat it. Can anyone here tell me what food it is that causes the most grief and suffering for years after eating it?" After several seconds of quiet, a 75-
  15. Kewl stuff! I love the red glowing lights in the lid.
  16. Lets see, were their names Guedo and Bubba? Thanx for the link, my friend. It's 28 and snowing... Blah! No grilling this week. Have fun with the new computer...
  17. Spring break? It's snowing here, jeesch! Yeah, we have a pile of branches down this year too. I see a mess, but SB sees trellis material for his flowering vines. We have little baby plants all over the house. Oh and our computers are both getting an overhaul. We bought a 250gig to put into a file server for both of us. That arrived yesterday so SB began the process of transfering all our pics and music. RuhRo.... Half of his music on the 60gig was corrupted. It's now packed up for warrenty replacement. The plan was for him to take my 30, I get his 60 and the 250 for storage. So, soon we'll ha
  18. I'm not sure if this should be here or as a "political discussion" on another board. Heh heh...................... A major research institution has recently announced the discovery of the heaviest element yet known to science. The new element has been named Governmentium. Governmentium (Gv) has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons, and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312. These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons. Since Governmentium has no electrons, i
  19. Through the years I and friends have been advised to feed "people" food to ailing furbabies. Right now I'm feeding my 8 1/2 year old dane about two pounds of cooked, peeled potatoes a day.(in addition to her regular ration of dry food) She dropped a lot of weight suddenly and it's been impossible to get it back on her. The vet says she's in good health so it's a "SPUD" suppement diet for awhile. Other times I've been instructed to feed an ole gal lean cooked burger and rice. Many breeders of working dogs feed only meat. I dunno what the answer is. I'm just hoping no one I know loses a pet bec
  20. Honda Boy, I use Mozilla Suite, which uses a different engine than FF.
  21. Rural Route # is just for postman. The Box/house number with the street, town will get you there. Unless they only have a postoffice box at the post office. But the RR is the give away. Try just that and let me know, I'm curious now. Opps, reread that post. You say you have NO street/road name? Could the Rural Route number be a highway? Like we have M-40 or M-115?. So the addy would be "box/house number>RR number/road name>city>state."
  22. Hummmm, jus thinkin Tyme does this all the time... *p00fs* gone for awhile and then we all lov'em up when he returns. JUST KIDDING... Did you ever replace your Dane? Oh, now I get it! It's that new "pup" you're adding to your people family. Best of luck my friend.
  23. Congrats! Mr. and Mrs. Tyme. And don't stay away so long....
  24. You know, I have a much more powerful system and I notice the same problems when Avast is updating. Or if it's late enough at night that Defender is scanning or our back-ups are running.
  25. I'm set at 1024x768 also. It must be my browser. But.......
